| | | | Throughout my life, there have been people, images, music, words, etc. that have touched me.
I decided that I would make a place where I could share these gifts....these inspirations and perhaps...others will feel drawn to share the expressions of their souls, too.
I ask only that all respect the purpose of this thread and keep it positive.
Welcome to

We all have our own strength but I never underestimate......
The Power of Two The Indigo Girls
Now the parking lot is empty Everyones gone someplace I pick you up and in the trunk Ive packed A cooler and a 2-day suitcase Cause theres a place we like to drive Way out in the country Five miles out of the city limit were singing And your hands upon my knee
So were okay Were fine Baby Im here to stop your crying Chase all the ghosts from your head Im stronger than the monster beneath your bed Smarter than the tricks played on your heart Well look at them together then well take them apart Adding up the total of a love thats true Multiply life by the power of two
You know the things that I am afraid of Im not afraid to tell And if we ever leave a legacy Its that we loved each other well Cause Ive seen the shadows of so many people Trying on the treasures of youth But a road that fancy and fast Ends in a fatal crash And Im glad we got off To tell you the truth
Cause were okay Were fine Baby Im here to stop your crying Chase all the ghosts from your head Im stronger than the monster beneath your bed Smarter than the tricks played on your heart Well look at them together then well take them apart Adding up the total of a love thats true Multiply life by the power of two
All the shiny little trinkets of temptation (make new friends) Something new instead of something old (but keep the old) All you gotta do is scratch beneath the surface (but remember what is gold) And its fools gold (what is gold) Fools gold (what is gold) Fools gold
Now were talking about a difficult thing And your eyes are getting wet I took us for better and I took us for worse Dont you ever forget it Now the steel bars between me and a promise Suddenly bend with ease The closer Im bound in love to you The closer I am to free
So were okay Were fine Baby Im here to stop your crying Chase all the ghosts from your head Im stronger than the monster beneath your bed Smarter than the tricks played on your heart Well look at them together then well take them apart Adding up the total of a love thats true Multiply life by the power of two |

Soulshine(Haynes) Buzzard Rock Music (BMI)
When you can't find the light That guides you through a cloudy day When the stars ain't shinin' bright And you fill like you've lost you're way When the candle lights of home Burn so very far away Well you got to let your soul shine Just like my daddy used to say
He used to say soul shine It's better than sunshine It's better than moonshine Damn sure better than rain Hey now people don't mind We all get this way sometimes Got to let your soul shine Shine till the break of day
I grew up thinkin' that I had it made Gonna make it on my own But life can take the strongest man And make him feel so alone Now and then I feel a cold wind Blowin' through my achin' bones I think back to what my daddy said He said "Boy, in the darkness before the dawn"
Let your soul shine It's better than sunshine It's better than moonshne Damn sure better than rain Yeah now people don't mind We all get this way sometimes Got to let your soul shine Shine till the break of day
Sometimes a man can feel this emptiness Like a woman has robbed him of his very soul A woman too, God knows, she can feel like this And when your world seems cold You got to let your spirit take control
Let your soul shine It's better than sunshine It's better than moonshne Damn sure better than rain Lord now people don't mind We all get this way sometimes Got to let your soul shine Shine till the break of day
Oh, it's better than sunshine It's better than moonshne Damn sure better than rain Yeah now people don't mind We all get this way sometimes Got to let your soul shine Shine till the break of day

| | | | | "A good relationship has a pattern like a dance and is built on some of the same rules. The partners do not need to hold on tightly, because they move confidently in the same pattern, intricate but gay and swift and free, like a country dance of Mozart's. To touch heavily would be to arrest the pattern and freeze the movement, to check the endlessly changing beauty of its unfolding. There is no place here for the possessive clutch, the clinging arm, the heavy hand; only the barest touch in passing. Now arm in arm, now face to face, now back to back -- it does not matter which. Because they know they are partners moving to the same rhythm, creating a pattern together, and being invisibly nourished by it."

| A story that i don't know whether it's true or not. It's unconfirmed by Snopes. Regardless of it's truth, i found it inspiring.
The Sack Lunches
I put my carry-on in the luggage compartment and sat down in my assigned seat. It was going to be a long flight. 'I'm glad I have a good book to read Perhaps I will get a short nap,' I thought.
Just before take-off, a line of soldiers came down the aisle and filled all the vacant seats, totally surrounding me. I decided to start a conversation. 'Where are you headed?' I asked the soldier seated nearest to me.
'Chicago - to Great Lakes Base. We'll be there for two weeks for special training, and then we're being deployed to Iraq'
After flying for about an hour, an announcement was made that sack lunches were available for five dollars. It would be several hours before we reached Chicago, and I quickly decided a lunch would help pass the time.
As I reached for my wallet, I overheard soldier ask his buddy if he planned to buy lunch. 'No, that seems like a lot of money for just a sack lunch. Probably wouldn't be worth five bucks. I'll wait till we get to Chicago '
His friend agreed.
I looked around at the other soldiers. None were buying lunch. I walked to the back of the plane and handed the flight attendant a fifty dollar bill. 'Take a lunch to all those soldiers.' She grabbed my arms and squeezed tightly. Her eyes wet with tears, she thanked me. 'My son was a soldier in Iraq ; it's almost like you are doing it for him.'
Picking up ten sacks, she headed up the aisle to where the soldiers were seated. She stopped at my seat and asked, 'Which do you like best - beef or chicken?'
'Chicken,' I replied, wondering why she asked. She turned and went to the front of plane, returning a minute later with a dinner plate from first class. 'This is your thanks.'
After we finished eating, I went again to the back of the plane, heading for the rest room. A man stopped me. 'I saw what you did. I want to be part of it. Here, take this.' He handed me twenty-five dollars.
Soon after I returned to my seat, I saw the Flight Captain coming down the aisle, looking at the aisle numbers as he walked, I hoped he was not looking for me, but noticed he was looking at the numbers only on my side of the plane. When he got to my row he stopped, smiled, held out his hand, an said, 'I want to shake your hand.'
Quickly unfastening my seatbelt I stood and took the Captain's hand. With a booming voice he said, 'I was a soldier and I was a military pilot. Once, someone bought me a lunch. It was an act of kindness I never forgot.' I was embarrassed when applause was heard from all of the passengers.
Later I walked to the front of the plane so I could stretch my legs. A man who was seated about six rows in front of me reached out his hand, wanting to shake mine. He left another twenty-five dollars in my palm.
When we landed in Chicago I gathered my belongings and started to deplane. Waiting just inside the airplane door was a man who stopped me, put something in my shirt pocket, turned, and walked away without saying a word. Another twenty-five dollars!
Upon entering the terminal, I saw the soldiers gathering for their trip to the base. I walked over to them and handed them seventy-five dollars. 'It will take you some time to reach the base. It will be about time for a sandwich. God Bless You.'
Ten young men left that flight feeling the love and respect of their fellow travelers. As I walked briskly to my car, I whispered a prayer for their safe return. These soldiers were giving their all for our country. I could only give them a couple of meals.
It seemed so little...
A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life,
wrote a blank check made payable to
'The United States of America'
for an amount of
'up to and including my life.'
That is Honor, and there are way too many people
in this country who no longer understand it.

| | | | | A friend who is far away is sometimes much nearer than one who is at hand. Is not the mountain far more awe-inspiring and more clearly visible to one passing through the valley than to those who inhabit the mountain?
~~~~~~
But let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
~~~~~~
Friendship is always a sweet responsibility, never an opportunity.
~~~~~~
In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.
| People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person.. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die.. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.
Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come
to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.
Thank you for being a part of my life, whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.
The Winter Will Lose Its Cold By: Matthew of Rievaulx
The winter will lose its cold, as the snow will be without whiteness.
The night without darkness, the heavens without stars, the day without light.
The flower will lose its beauty, all fountains their water, the sea its fish, the tree its birds, the forest its beasts, the earth its harvest.
All these things will pass before anyone breaks the bonds of our love.
And before I cease caring for you in my heart.
May your days be happy in number as flakes of snow.
May your nights be peaceful, and may you be without troubles.
