But FFXI is one I frequently play more than the above 2 ...that... game... seriously... is addictive.
I'm on Quetzalcoatl server: 75 Smn ***All Summons all merited bp's***, 75 Blm, 75 Brd, 69 Whm, 65 Blu, and 63 Drk
All other jobs would be lower. Summoner and Black Mage would be my main. ...Rarely if ever play Bard unless I totally want to Exp/merit-whore hella fast in parties. Bard basically being #1 merit-whore-master. *ws* yep, the new expansion comes out soon-ish.

So yeah... that much closer to getting access to 'Sea'
where you can only get some of the higher lvl BLU spells at.
I'm actually set for BLU... only need one spell from Merrow-type mobs. >>>> "Tail Slap". Then I am set for spells through at least 73.
I've got even the rare ones
like "Body Slam"
which one can learn from dragons
and "Memento Mori" from
the uber tough Corse mobs in Attohwa Chasm
Promyvion-Vahzl was a pain in the arse to do! *lmao*
First, it's long trek up the Spire...
2nd, you fight 1 NM, at the end of each main floor.
(3 in all) ...they are slightly weaker versions of the Promyvion (dem, Holla, Mea) bosses.
and lastly, after you get through all the floors
you've gotta beat the BCNM
at the top of the Vahzl-spire.
the BCNM at the top...
is basically, the 3 NM bosses (all at once... though they are the normal versions ...not the slightly weaker ones, you just fought)
They don't all attack/aggro, luckily when you start...
If the party gets the 1st NM to 20% health.
The 2nd NM will then auto-aggro
the nearest party member at that point.
And if the group happens
to get the 2nd NM down to 20% health
the 3rd NM will then auto-aggro.
We were very prepared though, planned it out well.
Melee should save WS/tp% til 1st NM around 20-25% then when the 2nd NM aggro's, one of the melee use terroranima on it.
to terrorize it for 20-30 seconds,
and make it run away in fear.
Then, unleash everything the party
has on the 1st NM to finish it
off as quickly as can be done.
By the time the 1st one dies...
the 2nd one should be coming back
take the 2nd one, and repeat the strategy. *ws*
Things didn't go quite according to plan
on the 2nd one at about 25%
the 2nd War had taken considerable dmg
from the 2nd NM and mages
were almost drained on MP for healing
when we happened to get it to 20%
...the 3rd NM to immediately auto-aggro'd him
(he... being the most close to it.)
and ...basically, massacred the War in like one hit
I say bad... because, that particular warrior
happened to be holding another terroranima,
which was to be used to keep the 3rd NM
at bay while we killed the 2nd one.
(That's what you call...
being in the wrong place,
at the wrong time...
...not good.)
Which means...
the 3rd NM is now free
to rampage and massacre
the entire party
without much hesitation
while the party is focused
entirely on beating the 2nd NM...
So, the other 2 War's
seeing that...
used their 2hrs: Mighty Strikes
to kill off the 2nd NM quickly.
...before the 3rd one
managed to own us all.
that was anticipated though...
I had a general notion that.
(...from watching the others fight up the spire...)
We'd wiped out at least once
during the fight vs the 3 Promy-Vahzl NMs
it being considered one
of 3 of the hardest BCNM's besides...
the Snoll Tzar fight
...which a group has to beat in 45 seconds
otherwise >>>>> it's an instant lose.
or the infamous airship battle in FFXI CoP 6-4.
I keep hearing
so many dreaded things about that one
from people... like about how...
parties wipe badly on the Omega Weapon
(...in the 2nd part of the airship battle...)
or about how, when fighting
the last NM Ultima on the 3rd airship
How Ultima spams
Antimatter >>>> Equalizer >>>> Antimatter
constantly over and
over and over
and over and over.
...someone said they got past omega and the 5 mammet-22 Zeta's good... but at Ultima... Things went horribly wrong
when it hit 10%
this guy told me that each time,
the party he went with got to ultima
they got it nearly down to 1% and wiped
When their PLD got 3-shotted
by Ultima's spamming of
Antimatter >>>> Equalizer >>>> Antimatter
PLD took like 1500 dmg (instant death)
He was the Pld ...the mages
couldn't do anything about that literally.
he said when he died... it just picked off the remaining people
while it was at 1-2%.
...I can imagine them all going... orz..
or just being severely agitated ...that's just crazy.

so frustrated he was nearly
about to quit the game
after fighting 6-4 four times
(...and being 4/4 losses on Ultima, badly...)
anyway in promy-vahzl,
we planned out...
that if, something
should go horribly wrong
during the BCNM and we wipe.
...and there's a high probability,
that something unexpected will occur...
or a random unforseeable mishap
will happen at some point...
that will wipe us out.
on the chance something goes wrong
and someone is about to die
or near close to death.
We should make sure we fight
near where we came in
just above the stairs.
That way, mages can reraise safely
and raise the other members and continue...
And we'd not hafta exit
restart from the beginning
and fight all 3 all over again.
defeating 2 NM's already...
taking the last one wouldn't
be too difficult now.
If we were quick that is...
Since there's a 30 minute time limit and all.
took a few minutes
to re-plan things accordingly
due to what happened,
while resting/waiting
for weakness to wear off. (if you die in FFXI...
another punishment besides losing exp
generally is that the said person
or people who die are afflicted with weakness
which leaves them in a weakened state for 5 mins
(during which your HP and MP will be stuck at 10% max for the entire duration of weakness til it wears)
Anyways, It was deemed best
that SMN (Me) should 2hr: Astral Flow
(Ifrit >>>> Inferno x3)
when the NM is at 50% health,
and if that doesn't kill it.
and it might not.
Just in case...
RNG should also use
his 2hr 'Eagle Eye Shot'
which was definite overkill
in the end... but, it worked,
and we won.
We had 7 members
by the time we got to the top
started out with 8,
but one wasn't prepared
for how long it would take
to get to the top said
that he was about to pass out.
So he went to sleep.
the BCNM itself
only allows 6
to fight the 3 NM's
at any one time.
Which meant 5 people
had to do it twice.
for Ben, the extra Warrior.
but we totally wiped the 2nd time around,
we basically had no chance
without our 2hrs being up.
(only the swapped war and Rdm had such up)
and RDM 2hr Chainspell
is practically useless in that fight...
and mighty strikes?
well... critical hits are nice...
...if you can hit your target...
but 1 war 2hr isn't enough
real base dmg.
The Rdm had to work.
I and most of the
other people were willing
to stay til Ben got his done.
but, 1 mage? ...uh...
and no 2hr's up save that War
(which it was used in the fight... when we wiped)
really needed more high yield damage
like Rng or Smn 2hr's.
Well, At least we got the win
the first time around. *shrugs*
Wanna know the really funny part...
there's a 30 minute time limit, right?
when we won, our clear time
was 29 mins and 12 seconds.
only had 48 seconds to spare. *evil grin*
Well, as long as it gets done...
then ultimately, I don't care how long it takes.
I never wanna do that BCNM again, ever btw...
I tried it before in 3-6 other parties
wiped in all of them...
one of them was
with a nin taru tank...
who... um... really sucked!
Although... ben I am sure wants his done...

I doubt I'll ever be doing COP 5-2 again... ever.

since 5-2 is more trouble than it's worth.
not only is it far too much trouble
to get people for, it's not worth doing
in a party where the melee
don't know what they are doing
...if you just wipe at the last BCNM at the top.
(...waste of time, if that's what's going to happen.)

Also have played FFXI Online, and I miss, oh how I miss, Earth and Beyond. |

I did an /age last night and have over 1000 hours logged for the game. All for a grand total of...150 bucks.
WoW blows. Have fun rebuying the same game, month after month with no content addition outside of the one expansion.

I haven’t don’t the promy fights yet. Trying to find schedules that will work with my ls. But I’ve tried a few, with pick up parties to no avail.
Right now I’ve been busy lvlling my thf, and my whm. Some day I’ll finish getting my war sub up to 37, and my sam to 75. heh.
And the only way I’d change servers is:
1. my whole ls did it too (cuz I’d soooo miss them and they are the bomb)
2. you be my gil sugah daddy. Hahaha
3. and if your economy is better then ours. 
Uh, there’s lots of other reasons I probably won’t switch. And why don’t you switch to mine? *l* too scared I’d make you do 5-2 again? Heh. also i need to tug people to help with the ZMs.
