just out of curiosity, i went to Travelocity and plugged in a round-trip ticket search from Philly to New Orleans...picked July 8-11, and got $213 round trip. Not horrible...i'm sure it'll fluctuate a lot between now and then, but it's a good start.

i think hotel would be the first priority - location, location, location *chuckle*

if i can help, let me know. *G*

4th of July weekend would be fun, however, I think it might be expensive to fly on a holiday weekend plus it makes it hard for those with kids to attend or spend time with family

if cost was an issue..

i checked a few cities on travelocity..and most are around 213 for a round trip flight..

hotels range between 89 buxx to like..10K a night. lol.
just depends what you want.

and canal street, corondolet, etc...are just outside of the quarter..walking distance even to bourbon and whatnot....so its still all good..

(a)..not really. -s-

i find it horrible on Mardi Gras..Essence Fest...
Sugar Bowl...(or any other bowl game)..Labor Day aka Decadence Fest..

even Jazz Fest and Voodoo Fest arent bad...nor or Saints games or Hornet games.

gotta say from personal experience traveling away from NYC during 4th o july is a lot easier than i looks like going here. I am down for 4th july weekend"Honestly... people who wouldn't be caught dead in a bad movie or ill-fitting clothes will go months or years with the wrong person! It's all baffling!"
